So, a Friday lunchtime and we wandered in to the front bar. Not so crowded, which is always a bit of a worry. My schooner of Becks was flat as a tack. I sent it back and it was duly replaced with something that hadn’t been sitting in the pipe overnight. Ordered the chicken salad. Just the thing for a sunny lunch with a Becks. What arrived looked good enough – a mix of designer lettuce leaves tossed in mayo and chicken. Did I say chicken? Well, I reckon there were about a dozen bits of dry meat about the size of a postage stamp lurking under the salad and bottled mayo. Not good enough really. The other guys burgers were good though, and even the ceasar salad got good feedback… Just avoid the chicken salad.
