The whole of my work business unit rocked up for our Christmas lunch on a Tuesday arvo at The Maid. This place is still having its renovations completed, but from the inside looks like it’s just about done. The result is a classy modern looking place that was easy on the eyes.
Taste testing time. The beer, I decided on a Stella. 330ml glass $6 or a bottle for $7.50. Its always the drinkers that pay for the renovations. Great tasting beer on tap though, so no complaints there.
For lunch we pre-ordered so I can’t really comment too much on delivery times, but it took them about 15 minutes to get everyones meals served from our group of about 30. Probably a bit long I’d say, as some people were getting frustrated.
I went for the Beef Burger ($14.90) up $2 in price since the renovations. The chips were pretty good, not as hot as they 
could be, but crisp and had good flavour and salt.
My first bite of the burger was cold. Not a good start, but luckily for me it got hotter fast. The burger was quite a simple effort with lettuce, tomato chutney, onion, bacon and cheese. The meat was medium quite juicee and had a decent BBQ flavour.
Asking around everyone said they enjoyed their meal, and from looking across the table the schnitzels here are a pretty decent size.
Overall, the renovations look great, just needs the outside finished off. The food is of a good standard that I will come back to try again even if it isn’t exactly on the cheap side.
