The Bombay is pretty close to our work. We were feeling lazy, so somewhere close was the go. One of the guys has a mate who was working there and hinted at the possibility of free beers (didn’t eventuate), so it was decided.
Last time I came I went for the delicious bike seat burger. Today, it was time for some squid of the salt and pepper kind. $11.90 too, cheap. Next I headed to the bar. I ordered a pint of Heineken. That will be $9.50 please…. After I grabbed my chin off of the bar I told the barman to tip some out as I only had $8.10 on me after my lunch order. He starred at me unamused and with a look on his face that that was the normal price for a pint…. Luckily my mate kenny stepped in and shouted me a $1.40. But I wasn’t impressed with that pricing what so ever!![]()
15 or so minutes later after I’d calmed down about the price of my beer and walked past the poster advertising $5 Amstel several times our meals arrived. My plate of Squid was stacked high the way I like it. There was a small side salad which I moved much further to the side, my sweet chilli dipping sauce and some hot, but slightly soggy chips underneath. The squid itself was excellent. It reminded me of the Earl of Leicester Squid. Pretty damn good quality pub food. very impressed.
The other guys had a beef bike seat burger which I was told was good, but not quite as good as the last time we went. My mate on a health kick had the salad which just looked like a complete mess, but he said it tasted ok. And the last dish on our table was the mixed grill which had a bit of everything on it, but only got an average rating.
So I deffinetly made the right food decision on this day, just a terrible and expensive beer one!

I love walking into this place, it has a fantastic Indian theme that reminds me of Las Vegas. Into The Rikki Tikki Tavi Bar we headed and grabbed a menu and a seat. Burger for me ($11.90) and a bottle of Amstel for $5.50. Haven’t had an Amstel since I was in Europe last… not too bad at all.
The good thing about waiting for your meal at the Bike Club is that there is so much to read and look at on the walls such as all the positions of the karma sutra. 10 or 15 Mins later the food arrived. Chips: cooked to absolute perfection and very tasty. The burger came with one large lettuce leaf folded in half on top that was easily removed. Standard bacon, cheese, tomato, onion, egg and tastie sauce. The meat was a good thickness and tasted like a perfectly BBQ’d burger you’d make your self on a weekend… . I was really impressed.
